We are currently supporting a global organisation with the appointment of an experienced
Procurement Manager to join its growing data centre team.
This is a client-side procurement role supporting hyperscale and mission-critical projects across the UK, EMEA and APAC.
The Role
The client delivers its data centre projects through delivery partners, including PMCs and MSCs. As Procurement Manager, you will sit on the client side, taking ownership of the procurement process across your portfolio of construction, MEP, equipment and professional services packages.
You will be responsible for ensuring tenders are properly prepared, commercially robust and delivered in line with project programmes.
Your responsibilities will include:
🔹 Reviewing procurement strategies, plans and package schedules
🔹 Challenging and approving RFP documentation before tender issue
🔹 Attending supplier and contractor clarification meetings
🔹 Reviewing bid levelling, normalisation and evaluation scoring
🔹 Assessing contract award recommendations for compliance, value and risk
🔹 Managing the client's approval and contract award process
🔹 Maintaining procurement schedules against construction need dates
🔹 Managing long-lead equipment procurement, including generators, UPS, switchgear, transformers and cooling systems
🔹 Procuring professional services and consultants
🔹 Reporting weekly on procurement progress, risks and key decisions
🔹 Identifying and escalating programme risks early
🔹 Capturing lessons learned and applying them across future projects and regions
What We're Looking For
We're looking for an established procurement professional with:
✅ 10+ years' experience in construction or engineering procurement/commercial roles
✅ Proven experience managing tenders from RFP through to contract award
✅ Experience working for a PMC, main contractor, hyperscale/colocation owner or similar
✅ Data centre or mission-critical project experience
✅ Strong experience procuring MEP packages and long-lead electrical/mechanical equipment
✅ Experience procuring professional services
✅ Working knowledge of NEC, FIDIC or JCT and client-owned contract terms
✅ Procurement experience across multiple countries within EMEA or APAC
✅ Strong commercial analysis, bid levelling and advanced Excel skills
✅ UK right to work
Desirable:
• MCIPS, MRICS or equivalent
• Experience with Ariba, Coupa or similar procurement systems
• A second language relevant to EMEA/APAC markets
