This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful security company who specialise in Security / Access Control Systems to some of the largest Utility companies across the UK as part of the National Grid Technology Framework, to join as an ambitious Civils Senior Project Engineer and help to develop the business during an exciting phase of growth. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for the planning, coordination and execution of projects in line with agreed timescales.
UK Travel is a requirement of the role, so a full driving licence is mandatory.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Have ownership of the overall project including planning, coordinating and execution of projects
- Attend Project Team meetings with key stakeholders to report on the progress
- Identify risks or issues regarding the progress of the project and offer mitigation to resolve said risks.
- To be fully accountable for the delivery of the projects, ensuring it is completed safely, on time, in accordance with the contract requirements and to budget.
- Sets the overall standard on the projects/contract.
- Identify issues and ensure they are resolved in a controlled and timely manner.
- To ensure contract programmes are planned, reviewed, and delivered.
- Responsible for effective client relationship management, collaborative approach and providing updates to internal and external stakeholders on project/contract progress.
- Ensures operating plans are in place to ensure sufficient resources and materials are in place.
- Will be expected to resolve most operational issues with any business-critical issues referred to the Operations Director.
- To comply with company standards, policies, and procedures.
- Responsible for all commercial activities associated with the project including the delivery of the gross margin, management of cost control and other key commercial and financial metrics
Essential Competencies

Degree or equivalent qualification in a commercial, or relative discipline.

Project Management Qualification (PMQ) or equivalent
- To be able to supervise contracts at site level
- To hold relevant FISS/CSCS certificates.
- CITB SMSTS
- To have a good working knowledge of all fence types, electrical fencing systems and access control systems
- To have a working knowledge of gate automation
- To have knowledge of fabrication in relation to fences and gates
- To be experienced in man management skills
- To have a good working knowledge of sub-contracting procedures and practices
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
