Senior Quantity Surveyor

AWC Staff Services are currently looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to support our client on a major Gas Project in Aberdeenshire, Scotland.

We are looking for a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor with strong experience within the National Gas / Gas Transmission Environment, who is comfortable working on a site-based project and managing commercial activities from pre-contract through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the commercial and contractual aspects of the project.
• Monitor project costs, budgets, forecasts and expenditure.
• Prepare and manage valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
• Manage variations, compensation events and change control.
• Review and assess subcontractor applications, costs and accounts.
• Provide accurate cost reporting and commercial forecasting.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities.
• Support procurement and subcontract negotiations.
• Ensure contractual compliance and maintain appropriate commercial records.
• Work closely with the Project Manager, Site Team, Commercial Team and wider stakeholders

Requirements

• National Gas / gas transmission experience is essential.
• Previous experience working on major gas, utilities, infrastructure or energy projects.
• Strong knowledge of NEC contracts and commercial management.
• Experience managing subcontractors, variations, valuations and final accounts.
• Strong understanding of cost control, forecasting and reporting.
• Excellent commercial and contractual awareness.
