Project Manager – High Voltage (HV) Electrical Infrastructure
£75,000 Per Annum + £5k Car Allowance

AWC Staff Services, alongside our client who are an established organisation within the electrical infrastructure sector is looking for an experienced Project Manager to oversee the successful delivery of high-voltage (HV) power projects across the South of England.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing business delivering critical infrastructure projects within the energy and utilities industry. You'll play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
This is a home-based position with regular travel to project and substation sites across Southern England. A company car allowance is provided, and applicants must hold a full UK driving licence.
Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution and successful delivery of multiple HV electrical infrastructure projects.
- Produce and manage detailed project programmes, budgets and resource plans.
- Coordinate the procurement of materials, equipment and specialist subcontractors.
- Ensure all works comply with current legislation, industry standards and Health & Safety requirements.
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, consultants and key stakeholders throughout project delivery.
- Monitor project quality, ensuring all work meets contractual and customer expectations.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies where required.
- Maintain accurate project records, documentation and reporting.
- Manage project finances, including forecasting, cost control and budget performance.
- Lead and support project teams, allocating workloads and providing guidance where necessary.
- Conduct regular project reviews to identify improvements and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor project progress against programme, budget and scope, ensuring successful delivery.
- Provide technical support and mentoring to project personnel.
- Promote continuous improvement by implementing best practice project management processes and procedures.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction throughout and after project completion.
- Produce regular progress reports for both internal management and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- HNC, Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is desirable.
- Health & Safety qualification such as SMSTS, NEBOSH Construction, IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent is essential.
- A recognised project management qualification (such as APM/APMP or equivalent) would be advantageous.
- National Grid authorisations or certifications are desirable but not essential, as training may be available.

- Sound commercial awareness and understanding of contractual obligations.
- Knowledge of HV/LV electrical infrastructure, including switchgear, cable installation, jointing and commissioning, is advantageous.
- Competent user of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Microsoft Project.
Experience
- Demonstrable experience managing electrical infrastructure or utility projects from inception through to completion.
- Experience working under NEC and/or FIDIC contract conditions.
- Proven ability to manage project budgets, financial reporting and cost control.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and safe project delivery.
- Experience coordinating contractors, clients and regulatory bodies.
- Track record of delivering projects within agreed timescales, budgets and quality standards.
- Previous experience within the power distribution, transmission or utilities sector is highly desirable.
