AWC Staff Services are looking for a Facilities Assistant/General Handy Person to work alongside their client, based in a school in Islington, N5.
About the role
- General maintenance and repairs: Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on building structures, grounds, and equipment. This can include tasks like fixing a leaky faucet or patching a wall.
- Facility upkeep: Ensure the facility is clean, tidy, and well-maintained, which includes regular cleaning of communal areas and groundskeeping.
- Inspections and monitoring: Conduct regular inspections to check that equipment is functioning correctly and that all systems (like HVAC, lighting, and alarms) are working properly.
- Emergency and request response: Respond to maintenance requests and work orders from building occupants.
- Event and meeting setup: Assist with preparing rooms for meetings and events, which may include rearranging furniture and ensuring the space is ready for use.
- Inventory and supplies: Manage the inventory of maintenance and cleaning supplies, and order new ones as needed.
- Health and safety compliance: Uphold safety standards, ensure compliance with regulations, and assist in managing safety procedures for maintenance work.
- Contractor coordination: Coordinate with and assist external contractors for major repairs or specialized maintenance tasks.
Due to the nature of the location of work, you must hold a valid, basic DBS disclosure to apply for this role.
Start: 25th November 2025
Duration: 2 Weeks (on going cover for a suitable applicant)
Rate: £14-18 Per Hour, DOE and Pay Type
