AWC Staff Services are looking for several Mechanical Fitters for an MOD project in Chester, the duties will include Steelwork erecting and fitting large steel panels, operating hand and machine tools safely and responsibly, selecting correct materials and equipment.
To apply for this role, you must have:
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter or similar role.
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or Fitting (preferred)
- Must be able to read and follow CAD drawings
- Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with safety procedures and use of PPE
- Physically fit and capable of manual work, lifting, and standing for extended periods
Desirable:
- Experience in a specific working with large mechanical assembly projects
- Welding or fabrication skills.
- Forklift or crane license.
- CSCS or equivalent safety card (for construction-based roles).
- MOD Security clearance
Due to the nature of the work, we can only accept applicants with a UK passport.
Start: 19th May 2025
Duration: 6-12 months
Rate: £31.20 - £36 per hour
